40 Healthy Recipes for Kids!

At Train Together we understand that children don’t always want to eat their greens. In a world surrounded by fast food, fatty snacks and sweet treats, is it any wonder that they turn their noses up at Brussels sprouts?

Last year, over a fifth of young children starting primary school were overweight and, sadly, each year we see this figure rise. That’s a scary statistic.

At Train Together, we understand your frustration as a parent. We know you want the very best for your children, but we also know that you don’t always have the time to slave over the hob producing an exciting array of healthy meals from scratch (and you certainly don’t have the energy to beg your children to eat them). As a nation we are falling into the quick-and-easy trap. Our lives are often far too busy to consider wise food choices and, unfortunately, they often become last on our priority list. But why should they? Eating right is the first step to a happier, healthier body – and we know you want your children to be both happy and healthy.

The challenge isn’t just finding quick and easy healthy dishes, the challenge is getting our children to try them and, most importantly, enjoy them.
We want to help you find new ways to get your children excited about healthy meals (and in some cases, not even realise that they’re healthy!). We have put together a fantastic Healthy Recipes for Kids collection filled with lunch box ideas, quick and easy main meals and delicious low fat pudding alternatives (so they can have their cake and eat it – without the hidden saturated fat). For each recipe we have provided you with a quantity breakdown of protein, carbohydrate, fat and calories per portion, so you know exactly what you and your family are eating. All of our recipes use fresh and unprocessed ingredients, they taste delicious and they are quick, easy and fun to make (so why not get the kids involved in the kitchen?)!

Our recipe pack includes 40 of our favourite healthy recipes for kids: from low fat banana and chocolate chip muffins and delicious chocolate banana ice-cream (made entirely from just bananas and chocolate – that’s it!) to low fat (and low carb) sausage burgers. We have even included a nutritional guide for you, so that you know how many grams is considered to be ‘low fat’, ‘low carbs’ and ‘higher protein’.
