Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification

It is a requirement of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in. This two-day course is designed to enable existing first aiders to extend their qualification in line with the Regulations for a further three years. The course may be taken within three months of the first aider’s certificate expiry date.

The course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition, this course will include any protocol changes that may have arisen since their last training course.

Syllabus

A range of subjects are covered including:-

  • Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
  • Resuscitation
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Bandaging
  • Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
  • Fractures and spinal injuries
  • Heart attacks
  • Choking
  • Control of bleeding
  • Head injuries
  • Eye injuries
  • Poisoning
  • Chest injuries
  • Sprains and strains
  • Burns
  • Asthma
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Stroke

Course Details:

This course is taught at the Training Room FGH Security, in Lancaster.

The course takes 12 hours to complete and is spread over two days. However, we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs, and can break up your course into more appropriate chunks (including weekend and evening training). This course consists of both practical and theoretical content. Our courses can accommodate up to 12 students (minimum age 16 years). We accept both individual and group bookings, and are happy to provide exclusive courses for larger groups and organisations.

As a guide price, this course costs £130 per person (VAT free). However, group booking discounts are available. For a personal quote, please contact us.

Student assessment is ongoing by the course tutor alongside a written assessment on each day. This course provides students with a three year qualification.
